Great quality early reader. I love the story within a story format. Siblings Rosa and Willy simply can't stop pestering one another and it's even worse when they're both vying for older Cousin Joan's attention. There's nothing left for Joan to do, but to tell the children a story about the misadventures of two naughty alligator babies - Light-foot and Quick-foot. This is a story that celebrates the power of good storytelling and its ability to tame even the most savage beasts! I love the old fashioned looking illustrations by Maurice Sendak. The little alligators are adorable in that naughty baby alligator sort of way. Recommended as a read aloud or for children who are in the early stages of reading with some help.
