I'll Always Be Your Friend - Sam McBratney, Kim Lewis
Little Fox doesn't want to stop playing when the sun goes down and says to Mother Fox, I'm not going to be your friend again, ever. What follows is a sweet and gentle story about the bond between mother and child. It reminded me of a spunkier version of Guess How Much I Love You and a less grating version of The Runaway Bunny. The art is absolutely gorgeous. I'm already a little biased towards foxes. I think they are among the most adorable little creatures and illustrator Kim Lewis has done them full justice here. My one minor complaint is that the writing could have been tightened up a bit. It doesn't flow quite as well as I think it should.
