Review

This is a solid, informational book about Ramadan: the Islamic month of fasting. I'm kind of with the other reviewers here in feeling that the information feels forced into a fictional narrative. My other little beef is that, at times, the text feels like a bit of a sales pitch for the Muslim faith. What really elevates this book are the illustrations by Omar Rayyan. I think without them this could have been a pretty forgettable little book. I fell absolutely head over heels in love with his work in Count Silvernose: A Story from Italy and I have been his devoted fan ever since!
