Adventures in Ancient Egypt - Linda Bailey, Bill Slavin (Illustrator)
Twins Josh, Emma, and their little sister Libby find themselves in ancient Egypt after stumbling into a strange sort of travel agency. Almost immediately after their arrival Josh is taken away to work on the pyramids due to a case of mistaken identity. Emma and Libby spend much of the rest of the book looking for and rescuing Josh. Of course over the course of their adventure they learn a great deal about the history and culture of ancient Egypt.

The format is more graphic novel than picture book making this appealing and accessible to many children. It reminds me of both the Magic School Bus and Magic Treehouse series, but has unique qualities of its own as well. It's fairly corny, but mostly harmless fun. I would defintely recommend it and will continue to look for the other titles in the series - Ancient Greece, Ancient China, Vikings, and Middle Ages.
