Ms. Frizzle's Adventures: Ancient Egypt - Joanna Cole
Ms. Frizzle, the eccentric teacher from the popular Magic School Bus series, has the summer off and is headed to Egypt on a guided tour. Her fellow travelers have no inkling what's in store when the Frizz shows up at the airport in another one of her wacky signature dresses. Soon enough the group is separated from their guide and find themselves smack in the middle of ancient Egypt. As usual Ms. Frizzle is unperturbed and enthusiastically goes about exploring and educating her new friends.

I can't say I'm as fond of this history-focused series as I am of the more science-centric series I've encountered. I think I miss the interactions and commentary with the students. Even so it's perfectly fine and will likely appeal to children who are familiar with Ms. Frizzle and her zany ways. One thing I *really* liked about this particular book was the side story featuring modern Egypt. That really makes this title stand out and one worth including in a unit study on ancient Egypt.
