How to Babysit an Orangutan - Tara Darling, Kathy Darling
We're continuing to feed our craving for all things ape/orangutan. This was definitely a highlight in a sea of rather ho-hum offerings on the topic of orangutans. I think this book does the best job (as far as I've seen) of relating the facts about orangutans in an engaging format.

This book tells how orphaned orangutans are prepared for life in the wild by human babysitters at Camp Leaky in Borneo. I like that the narrative is short and to the point, but also interesting and informative. I also appreciate that the text doesn't overly anthropomorphize its subject and doesn't shy away from presenting the realities of animal foster care - including, but not limited to, biting, temper tantrums and gum stealing!

The (ridiculously adorable!) photos are the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!
