Review

If this book taught me anything it's that I've missed my calling as a Shakespearean actor. Who knew, but I do a brilliant Richard III - at least the kid thinks so! I had her literally quivering under the covers with my rendition of Macbeth's witches! Talk about an ego boost!
So, clearly I had a really great experience with this book. Can I say it's the very best collection ever? Not with any real certainty. Can I say that all kids will dig it? Not really. But it worked for us.
This collection contains three sonnets and 24 excerpts from the plays. I can't say that all seem perfectly suited to a young audience, but most are. Plus the accompanying illustrations are really rich and evocative - further drawing the young reader (or listener) into the narrative.
