Animal Dads - Sneed B. Collard III, Steve Jenkins
Moms get a lot of attention and props in the picture book world. So it's refreshing to see a book devoted entirely to dads! Animal Dads is a celebration of the unique and wonderful and sometimes strange ways in which various animal dads nurture, educate and raise their young. The concept gets five stars from me. The illustrations by the fabulous Steve Jenkins weren't as consistently awe inspiring as I've grown to expect from him, but they're still nice.
