A very hard book to rate - as is often the case with short story collections. Here we have a collection of graphic short stories - all with the premise of a 'mystery box'. Some I absolutely loved - 'Under the Floorboards' and 'The Butter Thief'. Some I found puzzling, but enjoyable. And others I found amusing, but ultimately forgettable. The art is, without exception, fantastic! In the end, I really do like 'themed' story collections because I think they are thought provoking for the reader - they make us imagine even the possibilities beyond those presented. This could be a really fun way to start a creative writing session with a group of kids/students.
