With all the praise heaped on this graphic novel I guess I was expecting a little more. I'm not a dancer and I never have been, and still I was a little girl once and I very much understand the allure of ballet. I am also fascinated by the passion it takes to endure the training (and everything else) that comes along with choosing this path. However, I am afraid I found this book rather dull. I am sure some of it has to do with the fact that Siegel assumes her reader knows and understands more about ballet than I personally do. Also, I just didn't *feel* her passion and it all ends rather abruptly and I feel like a lot of things are left unexplored. The illustrations are very, very nice and I can see how someone who knows more, cares more about dance could find this more engaging. I suppose it just wasn't meant for me.
