Anya is a pretty typical insecure teenage girl - worried about her figure, worried about fitting in, worried about boys, worried about her embarrassing family. Her life takes a turn into the not so typical when a ghost from the early 1900s attaches herself to Anya. At first she seems like a welcome distraction from Anya's mundane teen life, but then things start to get a little creepy.
I found this one via A Mighty Girl - the same site where I found Courtney Crumrin - a fabulous graphic novel series - creepy, funny, etc.
I knew going into it that this was probably a little too grown up for my daughter, but she read it anyway and I think she'll survive. The protagonist smokes (although she does quit at the end) and there is a fair amount of sexual innuendo throughout - although most of it still pretty PG...maybe PG-13? Most of the really 'YA' stuff was over her head. The appropriate age range for this is probably middle school and up.
