We love Scaredy Squirrel and Melanie Watt so much in this house! If I didn't love them as much as I do this could have been a pretty big dud for me. As it is, I was just mildly amused. Watt changed the format here - it is a kind of hybrid chapter/picture book. Okay, that's fine I guess, but it does seem to go on and on. And, as the title promises, it is more of a guide than a story. Which, again, is fine, but it makes for awkward reading aloud. However, it was funny to see characters from past books (and even a little nod to Chester) pop up here and there. Ultimately, it's fun, but I would recommend all the other books in the series over this one.
