One of four picture books based on the early lives of the four principle characters of Arthurian legend (Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot and Merlin). These are fun to read with a child after they've been made familiar with the legends. This one is fun because it tells a story that isn't so familiar. I am woefully ignorant of Arthurian legend and can't comment on how 'accurate' this one is, but the illustrations are nice and Lancelot's journey and growth into a kind hearted and noble knight is enjoyable to read about.
