Hansel and Gretel - Rachel Isadora

A very inviting cover image with truly unique and delightful illustrations through out. However, as much as I love this story, I was a bit disappointed that the author/illustrator didn't break from tradition just a bit in her retelling. As a result, there were times when the text just did not work with the illustrations. In particular, the witch is so completely terrifying in appearance that it is preposterous to believe any sane child would willingly walk into her house. Still, definitely worth checking out for the illustrations!
