Celebritrees: Historic and Famous Trees of the World - Margi Preus, Rebecca Gibbon

A nice combination of two of my favorite topics - trees and history. I really enjoyed the 14 stories of famous trees contained in this picture book. Some are famous for their age, their girth, their height or for the events that took place in or around them. Many of the trees discussed are still alive today! Preus also includes nice end-notes and bibliography. Illustrations by Rebecca Gibbon are bright, expressive and appealing.
