The Gray-Eyed Goddess - Mary Pope Osborne, Troy Howell, Homer
After my daughter devoured the first three in this six part retelling of The Odyssey I wanted to see what these little books were all about! I hear The Wanderings of Odysseus is better from a literary standpoint and perhaps we'll try that one in a few years, but all in all I'm pretty happy with this one for now. I think Osborne did a good job simplifying the story for the early grade school set while still maintaining an engaging narrative. I'm looking forward to reading the final two and I may even go back and read the first three!
