Review

Maybe I'm finally getting into the Old Testament groove, but I really liked this book. We paired it with [b:Joseph and His Magnificent Coat of Many Colours|2789017|Joseph and His Magnificent Coat of Many Colours (Bible Stories)|Marcia Williams|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51EZK3YWHSL._SL75_.jpg|2814784] - which is a much more light hearted adaptation - and I think they complemented each other beautifully. This version is more complete - meaning that the details of Joseph's troubles with Potiphar's wife are more clearly explained (although not explicit). Also, more text is devoted to Joseph's time in prison and his interactions with his brothers during the famine. Wildsmith's illustrations here are just fantastic! Even if one isn't interested in biblical stories, I'd still recommend this one just for the illustrations of Egypt alone.
