The Fantastic Drawings of Danielle - Barbara McClintock
Another great picture book illustrated by Barbara McClintock. I don't think this is quite on par with Dahlia or Adele and Simon, but McClintock can really do no wrong in my eyes and I loved this book nonetheless. This book tells the story of Danielle and her photographer father (with a lovely Parisian backdrop). Danielle is a creative artist with a vivid imagination, but she doesn't understand why her drawings never turn out quite like the real thing. McClintock's Victorian style illustrations and Danielle's little sketches are the highlight of the book. This book is a great inspiration for young artists to be themselves and embrace their own personal style. Highly recommended!
