The Story Girl - L.M. Montgomery
This is another great book from LMM. There are only 2 books in the 'series' (the sequel is 'The Golden Road). But these characters (Sara Stanley and the King family) and the short story books 'Chronicles of Avonlea' and 'Further Chronicles of Avonlea' inspired an EXCELLENT tv series titled 'The Road to Avonlea'. It's one of the rare cases where the television series absolutely captures (maybe even surpasses) the written material.
