This is the story of an abandoned cat trying to survive in the snowy woods on Christmas Eve. In those same woods two little boys prepare for Christmas in their cozy little cabin. It's probably not too hard to guess how it all ends, but it's still a sweet story. I wasn't wild about Tasha Tudor's illustrations though. I'm more familiar her gauzy uber-feminine style. But, here they were more earthy (fitting the story appropriately), but I found them almost muddy looking. It also felt like the story ended a bit abruptly.
