The Lady and the Unicorn - Tracy Chevalier

I'm on a roll - reading authors/genres I *know* I won't like.  Tracy Chevalier is perhaps my most love-to-hate author.  I haven't really liked anything she's written since Girl With a Pearl Earring (which I read when I was a dummy undergrad so we really can't trust that assessment).  Chevalier is the master of contemptible, unbelievable characters who treat each other like shit and/or engage in awkward, awful sex.  BUT I CAN'T STOP READING HER!  I think I've finally read every single thing she's written.  Thank goodness I'm done....until she writes another book.
